Bio
John Dowell brings an eclectic approach to the transformation process from the diverse fields of Hakomi body-centered therapy, 15 years studying and teaching Contact Improvisation, 17 years practicing and teaching rock climbing, 15 years practicing mindfulness meditation, 7 years as a massage therapist and martial arts. John developed his own style of holistic therapy through intensive inquiry and experimentation on the dance floor and with clients and friends. For the past 12 years John has applied the principles of Hakomi Body-Centered therapy to his life and teaching. All of these practices have given him a rich understanding of the path to freedom through self-awareness, compassion, acceptance and playfulness.
This is the dance of life which brings beauty to even the most painful moments.
His intention is to create a safe, nurturing environment where clients feel the support they need to release long held body tensions, beliefs and deep emotions, and to open to new ways of being. John has successfully completed the two year Hakomi Comprehensive Training and is a Certified Massage Therapist
